have you tried disabling some of the extended tcp options:
net.inet.tcp.rfc1323: 1
net.inet.tcp.rfc1644: 0

try setting 'em both to zero and see what you get... I have to disable
one of 'em, or else my slirp link won't work properly... :)

IRC, these term servers are known to throw fits with some of the extended
tcp options...
