Although the restructuring makes some information easier to digest, I think in other ways, this is a step in the wrong direction: it is too i386-centric, and IMO anything relating to the slice structure (boot0cfg and fdisk) has no business being discussed here. (Even the pre-existing reference to the fdisk table in the BUGS section would be better discarded.) A sample specific gripe: | The booteasy bootstrap manager | | FreeBSD supplies a boot manager called booteasy which resides in | the Master Boot Record. Use the boot0cfg program to install it. The default FreeBSD/i386 boot manager is simply called "boot0"; it is *not* called "booteasy", which is a different DOS-based program that is also available (on CD-ROMs, at ftp.FreeBSD.org, etc.) in the (DOS) "tools" directory. You can't use boot0cfg to install booteasy. | jkh 1998/12/08 18:46:20 PST | | Modified files: | release/sysinstall menus.c | Log: | Stop erroneously claiming that we're installing booteasy. | | Revision Changes Path | 1.176 +2 -2 src/release/sysinstall/menus.c -- Robert Nordier To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe cvs-all" in the body of the message
