I have removed the PCI device in the kernel, changed the
/boot/loader.conf as required
hw.pcic.intr_path=1
hw.pcic.irq=0
and - voila the kernel boots up. Interesting to see after a nightmare with
OpenBSD and NetBSD last night (yes I tried NetBSD, too without
success).
lappy# uname -a
FreeBSD lappy.lappy 4.4-RC FreeBSD 4.4-RC #0: Sat Sep 1 10:32:38 GMT 2001 b
k@lappy.lappy:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/lap01092001 i386
I am happy that I do not have to use linux, very happy.
Thanks for your hard work.
