Yes, I mentioned that at the beginning of comment 2 -- I cannot reproduce t=
hat
problem.

The deprecation message on boot comes out when rc.conf contains a now-unused
syscons(4) keymap setting and rc.d/syscons automatically loaded the
corresponding vt(4) keymap instead. I would expect that to happen on a syst=
em
originally installed from 10.x or earlier. I cannot reproduce the first pro=
blem
reported here (installer setting keymap=3D"us.pc-ctrl.kbd").
