Brilliant, thank you so much. I'll have to add procstat to my toolkit! Firefox is the culprit. 17024 101907 firefox - mi_switch+0xe2 sleepq_catch_signals+0x425 sleepq_wait_sig+0xf _cv_wait_sig+0x154 usb_read+0x1ad devfs_read_f+0xd5 dofileread+0x95 sys_read+0xc1 amd64_syscall+0x364 fast_syscall_common+0x101 I close it and the USB system starts responding again. Now I just need to figure out who to report that to.
