Just remove /etc/rc.d/Makefile, and that should fix the Syntax error. Then run mergemaster. When mergemaster gets to checking the files in the /etc/rc.d/ directory, it may show that somefiles in that directory are not needed. Either let mergemaster delete all of these unneeded files, or make a note of them and manually remove the ones you don't need. NOTE: if you have custom scripts in /etc/rc.d, you may want to manully remove the unneeded files. Scot -- DISCLAIMER: No electrons were mamed while sending this message. Only slightly bruised.
