Generally less commas is a better editorial choice, written English is not supposed to emulate the same cadences as spoken English. Also, as much as I am supportive of the idea of improving our documentation, I'm not sure that the value of constantly revising old UPDATING entries exceeds the cost of the churn in the repo.
