 There is more that I can not understand.
 
 The above (those dri errors) occur after I *reboot* my notebook and do:
 $ startx
 
 But when I log out from DE (XFCE) and do again:
 $ startx
 those errors disappear.
 $ cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log
 ...
