Has anyone heard of efforts to build drivers for Metricom's wireless
modems (i.e. radios)? I have found references for LINUX and STRIP that
mentioned Randy Katz at Berkeley working on drivers for BSD. Any
comments welcome.

If you're asking about the "modem" you carry with you, no special driver
should be necessary. They're supposed to work like a regular modem. A friend
has one attached to his notebook, which runs NetBSD.

On the other hand, if you're intending to set up your own network, using the
Metricom equipment, I wouldn't be suprised if you'd need special drivers to
talk to whatever such systems use as a network hub. Since Berkeley is
supposed to have it's own Metricom network on campus, I suspect this may be
what those references are refering to.
