I would normally advise people to avoid purchasing Acer products 
based on their track record for producing incompatible and low-quality
hardware.

Looking at the picture on the webpage, the ALN-211 is almost certainly 
based on one of the Digital chips (the logo is pretty distinctive).

The ALN-201 on the other hand, has a glossy Acer logo over the chip; if 
it's not one of their own parts, it's probably a Realtek RTL-8029 or a 
similar PCI NE2000 clone.

You *should* be OK with the 211.
