 It is not practical to put _all_ of the supported hardware into the
 GENERIC kernel. 
 
 The code for matcd(4) is still in FreeBSD-STABLE. Add it to a custom
 kernel configuration file,
 
   device          matcd0  at isa? port 0x230
 
 And build a new kernel.
