The current version, which has = been committed to the tree, has fully converted to PEP-517 and no longer uses setuptools as its build system (uses devel/py-hatchling). The proper fix for this and an increasing amount of packages (maybe including the current brok= en set in these exp-runs) is PEP-517 framework support.
