Subject: USB NIC problem (watchdog timeout, MII read time out on boot)

I am attempting to get a Linksys USB100TX NIC working with my 4.3 beta
(cvsup'd when it wouldn't work on 4.2 stable, same problem)...

Problems:
1) Can't boot with USB NIC plugged in, it causes infinite loop with message
"aue0: MII Read timed out".
2) Plugging in while running, get message: "aue0: watchdog timeout" once
plugged into lan. Can't ping in or out.

Thanks for any help you can offer,
CAO

This is my /var/log/messages file with info:
