Hi there, I have a Sony Vaio R505EC with a SlimDock that contains, among other things, a DVDROM/CDRW drive. As I understand it, the connection for this drive is firewire, but it doesn't show up in dmesg and I'm not sure why. I'd like to at least use it as a cdrom drive, or as a CDRW. Here's the relevant bit of dmesg: XXXfw: vendid=104c, dev=8023 fwohci0: <1394 Open Host Controller Interface> mem 0xe0200000-0xe0203fff,0xe0209000-0xe02097ff at device 2.0 on pci2 fwohci0: Invalid irq 255 fwohci0: Please switch PNP-OS to 'No' in BIOS fwohci0: PCI bus latency was changing to 250. cache size 8. pci_cfgintr_search: linked (0) to configured irq 3 at 2:5:0 pci_cfgintr: 2:2 INTA routed to irq 3 fwohci0: OHCI version 1.10 (ROM=1) fwohci0: No. of Isochronous channel is 4. fwohci0: resetting OHCI...done (0) fwohci0: BUS_OPT 0xa002 -> 0xf800a002 fwohci0: Link 1394a available S400, 2 ports, maxrec 2048 bytes. fwohci0: Enable 1394a Enhancements fwohci0: EUI64 08:00:46:03:01:0f:0a:a7 fwochi_set_intr: 1 firewire0: <IEEE1394(Firewire) bus> on fwohci0 firewire0: firewire bus attach if_fwe0: <Ethernet over Firewire> on firewire0 if_fwe0: 0a:00:46:0f:0a:a7 sbp_identify sbp_probe sbp0: <SBP2/SCSI over firewire> on firewire0 sbp_attach To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-stable" in the body of the message
