            Bug ID: 283110
Summary: freebsd-update IDS vs. installed permissions (444 vs
                    555)
           Product: Base System
           Version: Unspecified
          Hardware: Any
                OS: Any
            Status: New
          Severity: Affects Only Me
          Priority: ---
         Component: misc
          Assignee: bugs@FreeBSD.org
          Reporter: wbe@psr.com

Seen in 14.1-RELEASE, and now seen again with just-installed (using
"freebsd-update -r 14.2-RELEASE upgrade") 14.2-RELEASE in regard to
/boot/kernel/*.ko, and /boot/kernel/kernel, and other files...

The files were installed with permission 555, but freebsd-update IDS compla=
ins
that the files should be 444.
