I have an Adaptec 1460D for my laptop. It worked fine with the FreeBSD 3.4 and PAO3 and I'm having problems with 3.5.1. But I wanted the upgrade to get StarOffice to work on my system. I had to hack a few things to get 3.5.1 and PAO3 to work last night. And it recognizes(sp?) the 1460 just fine and the Ninja-ata cdrom. the only problem I ran into was that removing the 1460 causes a kernel panic - only a small problem. to get 3.5.1 to compile with PAO3 I had to remove some devices from the kernel config and add an od.h file. in /usr/src/sys/compile/LAPTOP I mad a one line od.h that contains: #define NOD 1 and I commented the lines with the devices ncr0, ncv0, nsp0 and stg0 after that it compiled.
