Just a thought: did you run the command /usr/bin/cap_mkdb /etc/login.conf as indicated in the comments in '/etc/login.conf'. I believe you have to do this after any modification to the '/etc/login.conf' for the changes to take effect. -Martin ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mark Shirley" <mark@entropynet.com> To: <freebsd-newbies@FreeBSD.ORG> Sent: Thursday, January 20, 2000 1:25 PM Subject: login.conf not executing permissions that are set > Hi, when i learnd about freebsd's ability to restrict certian users's functions, like max processes etc.. However, when i attempted to use these rules they didn't seem to work. here is an example of a login.conf rule for login class test > > test:\ > :maxproc=3:\ > :sessionlimit=1:\ > > these rules do not seem to be taking effect. the user test is in login class test. i'm not sure if i have left something important out or what. please let me know, thanks! > > > > > > > > > To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org > with "unsubscribe freebsd-newbies" in the body of the message > To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-newbies" in the body of the messagehome | help
