this is just about the weirdest thing i've ever seen... we have a huge ftp archive of quicktime movies. some of them don't ftp correctly. what happens is the transfer gets to about 95 or 96% and then it just hangs. this happens in netscape's ftp, standard freebsd command line ftp, ncftp, windows ws_ftp. so it must be something on the server. we also have DOS zipped copies of all the movies, and they transfer without a hitch. i set up an apache web server to serve the files over http and they transfer flawlessly. oh yeah, just to add insult to injury, the problem is intermittent. that is, you ftp something, it hangs, you tell your co-worker and they try and it works fine. ideas?? ---jsd "Sanity is a one trick pony...you only get one trick: rational thinking... but when you're good and crazy, the sky's the limit!!" - The Tick.
