Apologies for the noise. Things _did_ begin working with: create_args_wlan0="country GB regdomain etsi up" – wifimgr brought up the list of networks moments after I clicked Send. Now it works _without_ the 'up' part. ---- Re: the earlier failures, my best guess is that there was some dreg from misuse of iwn(4). <https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=257361> for a bug in hardware notes.
