When it was pointed out that I'd broken the alpha (as alpha can't do ATM at all) I added the ifdefs, but this was after everything had become unconditional. As I never tried things with ATM defined in again (thinking *everything* was basically unconditional), I ended up screwing up :-( Hmm, LINT is a good idea ! That's my excuse anyway.
