I'm in the process of requesting our own address space from ARIN so that= we can gain some independece from upstream providers as well as set up som= e redundant backbones with multiple carriers etc. We meet the qualifi= cations set forth by ARIN so I'm going about filling out the forms. O= ne thing that is mentioned is you can use either SWIP or Rwhois to provide = utilization information for your current address space to ARIN. Alway= s being up for a new learning experience, I installed the rwhois daemon and= am currently reading through it's docs.

I'm just wonder= ing if anyone on the list has been through this process before and can offe= r advice, etc. Am I wasting my time with an rwhois server, is there a= better way to go about this, an pitfalls I should watch out for...?

=

And of course to justify my question I have installed rwhois o= n a freebsd box ;).

-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D= -=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-= =3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-

Eric Stanfield, K2Access
Keno Kozie Associat= es
222 N LaSalle #1500
Chicago, IL 60606
(312) 332-3000

</P= >= To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-isp" in the body of the message
