Hi, I'm planing to boot my IBM ThinkPad A31 from CD-ROM or floppy, and switching rootdev after the kernel got loaded to an other media (goal: leave the installed hdd 100% untouched). Actually I'm planing to get a Toshiba PCMCIA II (PC-Card) 5GB hdd. Will FreeBSD 5 detect that drive? My actually dmesg can be found at http://olli.homeip.net/LAN-Configuration/systems/dmesgs/lappy.salatschuessel.net-CURRENT.txt I'm wondering about: cbb1: <RF5C476 PCI-CardBus Bridge> mem 0x50100000-0x50100fff irq 10 at device 0.1 on pci2 cbb1: failed to enable memory mapping! playing arround with BIOS-IRQ-Settings? cbb0: Unsupported card type detected cbb1: Unsupported card type detected ??? If that won't not work with the pccard-drive... other recommendations? Annyways, I won't touch the hdd.
