The card is a SMC2632W-V2 and it refuses to co-operate. The card is on the list of supported cards, but apparently V2 is different from V1. I have this entry in pccard.conf. card "SMC" "2632W-V2" config auto "wi" ? 0x10000 insert /etc/pccard_ether $device start remove /etc/pccard_ether $device stop The system finds the card, but it then errors out saying with the following: wi0 at port 0x240-0x27f irq 11 flags 0x10000 slot 0 on pccard0 wi0: timeout in wi_cmd 0x0000; event status 0x0000 wi0: timeout in wi_cmd 0x0000; event status 0x0000 wi0: timeout in wi_cmd 0x0000; event status 0x0000 wi0: init failed wi0: timeout in wi_cmd 0x0021; event status 0x0000 wi0: timeout in wi_cmd 0x0021; event status 0x0000 wi0: mac read failed 5 device_probe_and_attach: wi0 attach returned 5 A Linksys card I was able to borrow works just fine, so the problem appears to be limited to the SMC card. Believing this to be a problem of my limited knowledge and not the card per se, I hope someone wants to give it a try. Please contact me off-list to make arrangements.
