When I create a new user and login via gdm gnome doesn't start. /var/log/messages: Jan 24 20:37:53 xris gconfd (nith-7066): Failed to get lock for daemon, exiting: Failed to create or open '/var/tmp/gconfd-nith/lock/ior' If I add this new user to group wheel gnome starts without errors.
