This is why there are precompiled packages on ftp.freebsd.org which you
can install with 'pkg_add -r'.  You can install them from any FTP
mirror, actually; just point PACKAGEROOT at the mirror:

export PACKAGEROOT=3Dftp://ftp.no.freebsd.org
