 Is this still an issue? I tried to reproduce this on a recent -CURRENT
 but everything works as it should:
 
 /dev/md0 on /mnt (ufs, local, soft-updates)
 /usr/src/sys on /sys-ro (nullfs, local, read-only)
 <below>:/sys-ro on /mnt (unionfs, noclusterw)
