How about just instrumenting the code in pcic.c and telling us why it's
not recognising the interrupt value you've set? There's a perfectly
good mechanism in place; if it's not working it needs to be fixed, not
kludged around.
The solution you're proposing is *exactly* what's wrong with the PAO
code - you're not fixing something so that it works like it should,
you're just making a mess and avoiding the problem.
