As I recall, it was due to sendmail trying to qualify an unqualifiable host name. Your host needs a FQDN (fully qualified domain name). Either give your host a full name, or disable sendmail. The command "hostname" will tell you the full host name of your machine. If it's just a simple one word name like "mymachine", then sendmail will grumble. You need something on the order of "mymachine.my.domain". If you're on a network, your sysadmin will tell you your full host name. If you're the sysadmin, start boning up on hostname by reading the hostname manpage in section 7 (type "man 7 hostname"). DavidGet more from the Web.
