I had to replace the EtherEZ by an old 3C509 (non PnP), and got the EtherEZ working in a 2 years old Gateway 2000 (non PnP BIOS). 2) YESTERDAY, at work, I tried again to use one with an ASUS MB (this time to install a FreeBSD system). I could not prevent the BIOS to reconfigure the card, even after setting "PnP = No" with the EZstart utility under DOS. I swapped the EtherEZ against Ultra to get the machine working. And people here seems to have problems with EtherEZ in new Compaq Deskpro. I think that EtherEZ "work fine" under FreeBSD or any system, with a non PnP BIOS, otherwise it is a lottery. I would be glad to hear some explanation, shortcut, etc about it. Claude Buisson
