Hello,

I'm trying to install Oracle8 Server 8.0.5 for Linux on a FreeBSD
3.1 machine, following [Moolenaar99]
(http://www.wi.leidenuniv.nl/~mhmoolen/howto-oracle.html) but when the
installer is compilling and linking Oracle Standard RDBMS executables i
get this error message in install.log:

make -f ins_rdbms.mk ORACLE_HOME=/u01/app/oracle/product/8.0.5

The system where I'm trying to install Oracle8 has 128MB RAM and
it was using 128MB for swap. Whenever I ran the above command by myself I
got this:

ld: Can not allocate 76 bytes after allocating 23060480 bytes
make: *** [/u01/app/oracle/product/8.0.5/rdbms/lib/oracle] Error

So I changed the sawp size to 256MB and make worked fine but only
when run by me, the installer still hangs in the same point. Does anyone
have experienced this before and/or knows how to solve this problem?

	Thanks in advance,
