	After I hit ``r'' to reply, I saw the ^[[3%dm and ^[[4%dm
	ESC sequence.   Your example works just fine.

	I'll sub to the mailing list when I find mention of it.
	It looks like vim is the editor that Bill Joy was thinking
	of back in '88-9 when he said that vi was passé...
