Since this is a development version, I suppose that's to be expected. I followed the instructions that someone else posted on -questions: make buildworld make buildkernel &&make installkernel Then reboot in single user mode make -DNOINFO installworld make buildkernel &&make installkernel (again) make installworld This worked for me perfectly.
