Hello all colleagues. I have the following problem. I had server with 2 SATA drives worked in gmirror. Recently we had crash of third (system) HDD. After FreeBSD reinstalation I see in dmesg: ad2: 238475MB <Seagate ST3250620A 3.AAD> at ata1-master UDMA100 ad3: 238475MB <Seagate ST3250620A 3.AAD> at ata1-slave UDMA100 And do not see any UFS file slices, partitions, etc. In /dev I have only /dev/ad2 and /dev/ad3 Mounting is impossible also: *sml# mount /dev/ad2 /mnt* mount: /dev/ad2: Operation not permitted Here is some output of fdisk usage: *sml# fdisk /dev/ad2* ******* Working on device /dev/ad2 ******* parameters extracted from in-core disklabel are: cylinders=484521 heads=16 sectors/track=63 (1008 blks/cyl) Figures below won't work with BIOS for partitions not in cyl 1 parameters to be used for BIOS calculations are: cylinders=484521 heads=16 sectors/track=63 (1008 blks/cyl) fdisk: invalid fdisk partition table found Media sector size is 512 Warning: BIOS sector numbering starts with sector 1 Information from DOS bootblock is: The data for partition 1 is: sysid 165 (0xa5),(FreeBSD/NetBSD/386BSD) start 63, size 488397105 (238475 Meg), flag 80 (active) beg: cyl 0/ head 1/ sector 1; end: cyl 168/ head 15/ sector 63 The data for partition 2 is: <UNUSED> The data for partition 3 is: <UNUSED> The data for partition 4 is: <UNUSED> *sml# fdisk /dev/ad3* ******* Working on device /dev/ad3 ******* parameters extracted from in-core disklabel are: cylinders=484521 heads=16 sectors/track=63 (1008 blks/cyl) Figures below won't work with BIOS for partitions not in cyl 1 parameters to be used for BIOS calculations are: cylinders=484521 heads=16 sectors/track=63 (1008 blks/cyl) fdisk: invalid fdisk partition table found Media sector size is 512 Warning: BIOS sector numbering starts with sector 1 Information from DOS bootblock is: The data for partition 1 is: sysid 165 (0xa5),(FreeBSD/NetBSD/386BSD) start 63, size 488397105 (238475 Meg), flag 80 (active) beg: cyl 0/ head 1/ sector 1; end: cyl 168/ head 15/ sector 63 The data for partition 2 is: <UNUSED> The data for partition 3 is: <UNUSED> The data for partition 4 is: <UNUSED> Some ideas what to do with it? How to restore my data? Thanks in advance, Alexey P.S.: with stupid trick I see that data are still there: *sml# dd if=/dev/ad2 count=1000|strings* /home /usr/local/vpopmail 1000+0 records in 1000+0 records out 512000 bytes transferred in 0.139311 secs (3675228 bytes/sec)
