Morning,
Ok, I've tried everything, but I cannot get my recently-purchased Intel
Express card to work with my vaio running either -stable or -current
Searching through the archives, I found that changing pccard_mem to
0xd4000 was necessary, but no matter what I try, I always get:
May 8 12:22:18 weirdo pccardd[88]: Card "Intel"("EtherExpress(TM) PRO/100 PC Card Mobile Adapter16") [PRO/100 M16A] [1.00] matched "Intel" ("EtherExpress(TM) PRO/100 PC Card Mobile Adapter16") [(null)] [(null)]

Yes, I have xe(4) in kernel..
The card works fine in doze, netbsd and was found with a slackware-current
install, but there seems to be something buggy with FreeBSD's implementation
as a fresh 4.3-RELEASE install with the card inserted just hangs, and pcic1
needs to be disabled on a working install to stop the machine crashing when
inserting/removing the card. I've just borrowed a D-link pccard and it
worked straight away inserting it with the settings I have for pccardd etc.
If anyone has any tips, I'd love to hear them, as this will mean I can
use FreeBSD at work instead of Solaris for most stuff :)
Jon
