I generally agree, although it may not be that simple.

But variant (a) isn't bad just to get numpy2 into the tree for now - for pe=
ople
to start using / investigating migration of existing code that uses numpy
(along with the nice migration guide mentioned in comment 4).  This assumes=
 we
don't get a rush to update dependencies to point to numpy2 and quickly start
hitting dependency hell.
