It would be useful to know if the quirk entry, once restored, fixes things.
There is a way to dynamically add usb quirks. You'll need to load usb_quirk=
 and
follow the instructions in
https://man.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?query=3Dusb_quirk&sektion=3D4&n=3D1 and
https://man.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?query=3Dusbconfig&sektion=3D8&apropos=

to add the quirk back and see if the problem persists.

I'm not sure if the I/F should be pingable in S3 though. FreeBSD is basical=
ly
shutdown at that point (Linux might not be). If a sleep/wake cycle results =

it not being pingable, then that is definitely a bug (it was a little uncle=
