Just as one would use a 486 for the same jobs with FreeBSD. Here at the University of Maryland, the Aerospace people have built a robot using a 68k processor and a more powerful version using PPC. I kind of suspect they are using VME boards for it. A friend of mine is working as a programmer on the project but he has no idea what is inside the box.
