BIND gives periodic (hourly, I think) stats to a file. You can find a syntax explanation of that file at http://www.dns.net/dnsrd/stats.html (don't know if it's up to date). If you want to be more precise and do statistics related to domains, I think you're on your own. You would have to open the "query" channel (may be a problem on a loaded server) of bind's configuration, log every query/response, and extract the needed information, using some automatic process (like a home made script...) --jp ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jamie Heckford" <heckfordj@psi-domain.co.uk> To: <freebsd-isp@freebsd.org> Sent: Wednesday, June 20, 2001 10:51 AM Subject: BIND 8 > Hello, > > Does anyone know how to extract statistics from BIND 8? > > Not looking for any amazingly in depth details, just basic stats > like requests a second, most frequently requested domain etc. > > Any info would be appreciated > > Thanks! > > Jamie > > To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org > with "unsubscribe freebsd-isp" in the body of the message > To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-isp" in the body of the message
