Hmm.... I'd certainly be in favor of this for ifconfig de0. The ifconfig -a(u|d) is more problematic though. I know when I do an ifconfig -a, -au, etc. I just want the bare minimum info. I don't know (not having a multi-interface) what it shows now, but perhaps ifconfig -a should show the ACTIVE media type, but not a list of others, where as ifconfig de0 should show all available types...?
