Dear All; I have the same problem with running Fxtv unser FreeBsd. I have already raised a PR (kern/67769). Plaese Read the above PR for further information. I am using an Abit Motherboard BE6II, with Intel R440BX chipset (82443BX and 82371EB). I use an AGP graphic card with an NVIDIA TNT2 chip set, and PCI Hauppauge WinTV Primio FM TV card. I have been running Fxtv application under FreeBsd4.5 on the above configuration without any problem. I installed FreeBsd4.10 on the same above configuration and noticed the Desktop (KDE) Freezes. I then used the following FreeBsd Releases on the same above configuration and noticed the problem still exist. I.e.(KDE Desktop Freezes). FreeBSD4.6, FreeBSD4.7, FreeBSD4.8, FreeBSD4.9, (did not install FreeBsd 4.9, but I bleive the problem exists) FreeBSD4.10 Therefore this is not a hardware problem, Since the hardware remained the same at all time. This problem introduced in FreeBsd 4.6. I have noticed that there were lots of changes introduced in FreeBsd4.6. For example the entire DMA access and transfer routines are redesigned and rewritten. I believe there is a problem with DMA transfer to Graphic card. I also noticed that FreeBSD4.5 was using XFree86 version (3.3.6) and FreeBsd4.6 to FreeBsd4.10 using XFree86 version (4.x.X) If you have any suggestion about the above problem, I would be grateful to hear from you. Please contact me if you have any question. Kind Regards Abbas P.S: Since I am not part of the above news group, I would be grateful to send your replies to my emails:abbas_karbassian@yahoo.com __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
