The snapshot (from mirrors.rcn.com/pub/FreeBSD/alpha) of the 31st installed
completely (almost).  Still with red backround, light cyan highlights, etc.

I must admit the keyboard is an HP i386 PC keyboard (all I have in the
house).

My pleasure.  Here is where I stand now:

Sysinstall finished, but /boot (as seen from vc4 - Alt-F4 :-) is empty.
/usr/mdec has boot1, loader and netboot.  This is not matching the i386
directory at all.  What should I put in /boot before I shutdown the machine?
