Software Tried: GIMP -- installed fine Wine -- won't build. I get different errors each time Examples: 1)"do not know how to make _INSTALL_/libavifile.so" 2)error 2: i forget where 3)"/usr/libexec/elf/ld: exception.o invalid string offset 1 >= 0 for section`' /usr/libexec/elf/ld: exception.o invalid string offset 9 >= 0 for section`' /usr/libexec/elf/ld: exception.o invalid string offset 1 >= 0 for section`'" The Checksums are OK. I dl's versions 20011108 and 20011104 from winehq.org and 20011108 from freeBSD.org. mtools -- won't build, err. code 1 can't remember specifics. deleted source. I have tried to dl binaries, but i can't figure out what top do to install them. If they don't have a shell script what do i use to install. For example the mtools binary contains: +COMMENT - short description +CONTENTS - file list +DESC - info on commands after install +MTREE_DIRS - directory layout of install files bin dir w/ programs i can't run from K or a termanal etc, info(manual says nothing about installation), and man dirs What do i need to find to install the binaries. Wine binaries have similar stuff.
