Nope. Originally it was "on sd0", and when the GENERIC kernel would
boot but not my custom one, I went back and added wdc0, wd0, and wd1
and changed the config line to "on wd0" just for grins. Still no
joy. I guess I'll have to drag a DAT drive home from work, backup
the entire system, and re-install. I wonder if something happened
to my partition table, but that doesn't explain why GENERIC will boot
and my custom kernel won't -- I reinstalled the entire ssys distribution
from CD-ROM before building the last several kernels.
Weird.
