After several hours of FreeBSD 5.0-RELEASE being on and running, my USB input dies. That is, I may have been working at the console, sit idle for some time, and come back to find that nothing I type on the keyboard is echoed on the screen. I can fix this easily enough by unplugging and plugging in again my keyboard, but I'd like to prevent it from happening at all.

I'm a total FreeBSD- (and indeed, unix-admin-) newbie.

Part of the problem is that it takes a lot of waiting for it to fail. Where should I start looking for clues?
