It is not hard to replicate. I happen to be using a RAID volume with 3
x 18GB disks. "camcontrol tags da0" says that there is only one opening.
Setting the openings to 4 ("camcontrol tags da0 -N 4") and do a bit of
heavy IO, and it will be hung within a minute.
I'm doing this on a 4.2-STABLE system. P3-1000, 512MB of RAM, Mylex
AccelRAID 352 with 64MB of cache.
I will post some postmark results of a AccelRAID 250 vs. AccelRAID 352
on Monday. Even though the 250 only uses Ultra 2, has a slowish
processor, and 16MB of cache, it is consistantly faster that the AccelRAID
352. Each was using a single RAID1 volume. The 352 was connected to
faster disks though.
