It seems, that devs probably are unaware about bugs causing video-mode
choice problems (see f.e. "my thread" from 10 May: subject 
"FreeBSD7/xorg/radeon: Section `Screen' totally ignored" - and much older
ones, f.e. at http://tinyurl.com/5p64jn ). Yesterday I've replaced both
Xserver and radeon driver for newest version available in the ports - and
the long-ago reported problem's still here.

Whom should I contact, to let him know about the bug?
