I read my hundreds of commit messages every day, but especially in the very big, global ones, I sometimes miss something. You'll recall that I warned of exactly this possibility the last time you violated the MAINTAINER bit on ffsinfo. > .Nm remembers its first invokation argument, and it is now possible > to write ``.Nm ,'' and have ``vinum,''. Thanks for the information. Do these work in NetBSD, OpenBSD and Linux? Remember that Vinum is intended to be used on these systems as well. I respect the work you're doing, but the way you do it is not helping. I don't think there should be an artificial distinction between code developers and doc developers. If there were, you would have to do a lot more work at keeping the technical content up to date. At the moment, though, going in and changing documentation without even telling the MAINTAINER is going to make you unpopular. Sure, it's more work doing it the other way, but the way you're doing it, you're making more work for each affected developer. That's not fair on them.
