I wasn't sure if this has been noticed so I thought I would ask: Has anyone else noticed that 2.1.0 binaries on a 2.2 system cannot lookup users in YP maps if they use getpw*? I recently upgraded a 2.1.0 system to 2.2 and I had no problems until last night when I made a change to /etc/master.passwd (first change since the upgrade). As soon as the /etc/pwd.db and /etc/spwd.db files were rebuilt all the 2.1.0 binaries on the system stopped being able to look up users in the YP maps. I have been recompiling most of the affected programs and that fixes it, but in case anyone else hadn't seen this I thought it might be good to let people know about this caveat.
