Hi, I posted a message a while ago about the fact that I couldnt get running XFree86 4.x with i740 driver. Well, after too many desperate tries, I found a page on the net, and it seems that the server was properly configured but the diver for i740 was baddly written (a null pointer was referenced). I took the patched version of the driver, compiled it and it works.
