I don't know about gcvt.  Isn't that really easy to do with sprintf, tho?

True.

It's still true.  XFree86 doesn't support it directly.  The truetype stuff
thru Freetype is really new, and not integrated into XFree86.  Why don't
you think about writing a port and adding it to FreeBSD?
